What is the Intervention Based Assessment Team? The Intervention Based Assessment (IBA) Team is a group of professionals who meet to discuss the academic and/or behavioral concerns of children. The team may include teachers, principals, school psychologists, speech/language therapists, representatives from community agencies, and the parent of the child. The team uses a problem-solving approach to discuss concerns about your child. We will then identify goals to improve your child's school What is our purpose? The purpose of the IBA Team is to provide your child with the best opportunities to learn and participate in the regular education program and to improve his/her school performance. Not every child learns the same way. The team will take into account your child's needs and attempt to discover the most effective ways to increase positive learning and behavior. What should you expect? Our meetings are organized and timed in order to use the time productively. There will be a printed agenda to help us stay focused. The team follows three guiding principles:
